Q&A’s WITH IBRAHIM
Happy Friday!
Hope you’ve had a great week so far. As we step into the weekend, since it’s Friday, let’s answer a few Q&As.
Question from Brenda (Founder, solo team): How can I make the best use of the user generated content (UGC) to market my brand?
My Response: Personally, I think it’s one of the best ways to market your brand during the initial days, and can be cost effective as well. At the very least, if you’re on a tight budget, you can do barters with the creators/influencers.
I’ve dedicated some of my deep dives and nuggets recently just to talk about UGC, and these resources will hopefully answer most of the questions you have if not all regarding UGC and influencer whitelisting.

Question from Max (Founder): How can I reach out to my Amazon customers? Like sending them an email for example
Response: I had received a similar question previously, but I’ll answer it again since a lot of the brands are listed on Amazon. And this is one problem pretty much everyone that sells on Amazon has thought about at some point.
There are a couple of ways to solve this, but you can obviously get a lot more creative:
You can use a tool such as BRIJ, which tries to bridge this gap
You can insert a thank you card and have a QR code as a part of your packaging, that directs these customers to your website. Why? Because they are incentivised in some way (eg: when they subscribe on the website, they get a $10 voucher)
Apart from this, I had written an 8-page deep dive on Amazon recently. You can read it here.
Question from Melissa (COO): Our current return rate is around 35%, which is too high, and we run one of the fastest growing apparel brand
My Response: I’ve received a few questions previously regarding the same. This is a common issue when it comes to apparel brands. If you have returns lower than 15% with an apparel brand, you’re doing something right!
I’ll suggest a few tools in the order of most effective for your purpose:
Loop (also known as loop returns): It’s a platform to make returns almost seamless, which is better for you and the customer. Would definitely make a huge difference for you.
Octane AI (or Presidio Quiz kit for as an economical alternative): If you can try to reduce the chances of a product being returned at the very start of it, you can definitely bring the rate down, and one good way to do that is by introducing quiz and letting customers choose the perfect size!
Gorgias: If your backend is chaotic, you need a tool to keep them all organized and efficient, and Gorgias does that and also would help you automate most of the things (you should check out their rules feature).
Alright folks, that’s it for today. Have any questions for me? You can ask here.
Have a great weekend!
