📦 Is fast delivery sustainable?
đź“° TL;DR - A lot of things about e-commerce changed over the pandemic, and delivery times were no exception. Average delivery times have only gotten speedier, thanks to changes from shipping companies as well as pressure from customers. In fact, 2023 is seeing the fastest delivery times ever. But can it be kept up? In fact, some brands are overpromising on fast delivery and missing their own windows.
💡 Insight - The biggest and most practical takeaway is this: customers prefer accurate delivery over fast delivery. Don’t get me wrong, they definitely want deliveries fast and are even willing to pay a premium for it. But what matters most when completing a checkout and getting an accurate delivery window — preferably one that has a short range, or even an exact date. If you can’t make your deliveries happen fast, at least try to be more accurate.
🤫 What are fast-growing brands are doing differently with influencers to see 5.2x+ ROAS?
You've heard the stories over and over again...
Brands pay top dollar for influencers and then see 0 returns. Maybe this happened to you too!
So what are some brands doing differently?
They focus on identifying high-quality influencers. Secondly, they leverage commission-only promotions.
However, these tasks can be challenging and time-consuming. To streamline the process, leading DTC brands now use platforms like SARAL.
With SARAL, influencer marketing becomes an easy 3-step process:
1) Automated discovery and outreach to influencers.
2) Efficient bulk generation of tracking links, product seeding and more.
3) Performance tracking and relationship management.
đź‘€ 5 proven improvements for video ads
📰 TL;DR - Social Savannah is at it again with another great Twitter thread. This time, it’s five proven findings on how she’s improved video ad performance. These include:
Talk directly to the camera
Show multiple people
Start with a cliffhanger
Use zooms and other visual variety
Greenscreen in your website
Click through to see examples of each. Savannah has made videos for some 250+ brands, so these insights are based on her own work, which I would trust!
I've created ads for over 250 brands...
Here are 5 data-backed findings that I have discovered to improve ad performance:
#1 Talking to the camera typically performs better than a voice-over.

💡 Insight - On the surface, TikTok and Reels ads look so breezy and easy. But maintaining that all-important air of authenticity while also seamlessly promoting a product is tricky! These tips should help. I’ll also note that Savannah’s style is so successful because she leans into creating what looks like UGC — like a person who is vlogging a product they love, not an influencer shilling for a brand. The other takeaway is that you really need a face (or two, or more) in social video — just showing product usually won’t cut it. So if you’re not comfortable being on camera, recruit someone who is.
🎨 Brand colors and why they matter
📰 TL;DR - This guide looks at the importance and art of determining your brand’s color scheme. It goes over different styles of palettes, with tons of great examples. Your color scheme is one of the first things a shopper will notice about your brand, since it’s going to be everywhere from your logo, to your site, to your packaging, to your socials. Getting it just right and having it truly reflect who you are as a brand is a big deal!
💡 Insight - There’s been what I think is a very millennial-led trend of muted colors. Think, neutrals, millennial grey, and maybe one bold color for pop. There’s also been a trend toward flattening everything. And it’s kind of boring! For my two cents, some of the most memorable brand coloring in DTC I can think of is Fly By Jing and Magic Spoon cereal. Both take on a maximalist, colorful, collage-like color scheme. That’s not for everyone, but the point is they’re memorable!
