How Blume’s Before & After Email Drives Clicks Effortlessly
Happy Friday!
I love it when brands come up with really good emails, which includes not just the design, but also the copy.
Here’s what I like about this email, and what I think can still be improved.
What I like:
The before and after photos hit hard. Real skin, real results. No fancy lighting tricks – just a solid transformation. That’s exactly what people want to see when they’re dealing with acne.
The headline is clean and straight to the point. “The Results Speak For Themselves” – short, confident, and makes you want to scroll down.
Calling out the ingredients with benefits feels personal. Blue Tansy, Tamanu, and Rosehip sound fancy, but breaking down what they do makes the product feel more legit.
The “Try Meltdown” CTA feels impossible to miss. It’s sitting there waiting to be clicked – no guesswork involved.
I like the simple layout. It’s not trying to do too much. The focus stays on the product and its impact, which is all you really need.
The clean beauty and WOC badges? Nice touch. It subtly tells me this brand actually cares without screaming about it.
What I think can be improved:
The “award-winning” line feels thrown in. I’d either lean into that more or leave it out. It’s kind of just floating there.
The product shot is fine, but it could use more context. Maybe a hand holding the bottle or a quick tip on how to use it. Just something to make it feel more real.
Overall, it’s solid. A few tweaks here and there, and it’s golden.
Alright folks, that’s it for today!
Hope you have a great time ahead of your holidays and enjoy some down time with your families.

Cody Plofker’s 2025 Playbook: Controversial or Genius?
Cody Plofker was the CMO of Jones Road Beauty−one of the fastest growing brands, who recently took over the position of CEO, replacing his mother, Bobbi Brown, who’s been well known in the beauty industry.
While some of his takes for 2025 are quite controversial, he does seem to share some solid takes as well.
