💡 Insight - I'm going to trust that this list was created from internal data over at Oberlo/Shopify and not simply pulled out of the writer's butt. I feel safe in that assumption because the list definitely tracks with other trends we're seeing, such as with eco-friendly products and recommence. These niches would work for both creating fresh products, revamping ones you have, or starting a new dropshipping site.

🙏🏽 In TikTok we trust
📰 TL;DR - You may have seen the hearings last week where a bunch of very out-of-touch Congress members attempted to interrogate TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew. Aside from a heap of second-hand embarrassment, you may be wondering if marketers are going to shy away from the app given a potential ban in the US. Well. Nope. In a poll, 87% of marketers said they still think TikTok is viable for long-term marketing and most are planning to increase spending in the year ahead.
💡 Insight - Based on what I've seen, even an official TikTok ban isn't going to stop many people from using the very, very popular platform. Gen Z has been absolutely roasting Congress on the app and they tech savvy enough to get around the ban anyway. Also, marketers are confident in the app even though the majority think the ban will happen. So don't take TikTok out of your social media strategy just yet.
🍜 The internet loves a good thrift haul
📰 TL;DR - This is a fun little piece about the rise of thrift hauls on platforms like TikTok and YouTube. Haul videos have always been popular, but now secondhand shoppers are duplicating the trend with pre-loved items. That could mean a trip to Goodwill, but increasingly that means an order from Depop or one of the many brands now running a resale channel.
💡 Insight - You can definitely piggyback on the thrift haul trend for your own influencer-led content. If you have a resale channel, or are soon to launch one, working with an influencer to show a "haul" of your pre-loved goods would be a super smart move. Even if you don't, with resale trending, it would be smart to create content around how long your products last. Shoppers are definitely looking for longevity in their purchases now — lean into it.
