Bite’s 7-figure funnel breakdown (built without Shark Tank’s money)

Would you want to see how a 7-figure DTC brand structures key parts of their funnel from paid ads to onboarding welcome flow?

But wait, why should you care? Because Bite’s marketing goes far beyond selling toothpaste - they’re really good at building experience rooted in convenience, sustainability, and lifestyle. And a lot of their approach can be applied to your own brand as well.

This breakdown of Bite Toothpaste Bits covers:

  • Their Paid Ad Creatives (Over 50 ad creative snapshots, giving you a glimpse of what’s working for them)

  • Website Flow (Home page, collection page, product page, drawer cart, and checkout page — with my own breakdown added)

  • Welcome Email Flow (A step-by-step breakdown of their 5-part welcome series turning visitors into loyal customers)

Here’s something wild: Bite once turned down a Shark Tank offer of $325,000 from Mark Cuban for 5% equity, which was valuing themselves at $6.5 million. Fast forward to now, and they’re pulling in over $7.2 million per year. That's the kind of growth you can’t ignore. They’re almost an 8-figure brand now.

I’ve laid it all out in a straightforward, no-fluff structure so you can take what works and make it your own. If you’re at a similar stage, or looking to hit the 7-figure mark, you want to be consistently studying brands that are a step ahead of you.

Stop sleeping on birthday flows — here’s how to get them right

Next up, let’s talk about something super specific in retention that I know a lot of the brands either forget about or just completely screw up — Birthday Flows.

A well done birthday flow can actually generate a significant amount of additional revenue if done right. It’s a very special day for your customers, and it’s a great chance for you to make them FEEL special!

A few things I’d recommend that’s on top of my head:

  • Collect birthday data properly. Make it easy and natural. Add a birthday collection field to your sign-up forms or even just ask for it during checkout. But make it sound fun. Like, “Wanna get a birthday surprise? Tell us when to wish you!”, or get more creative. Feel free to test it out.

  • Make it feel personal. The last thing you want is your birthday email sounding like a generic discount blast. It should feel like it was made SPECIFICALLY FOR THEM. Use their name, reference their past purchases, or something interesting about just THEM, and make it feel like you actually care. And you should. They are what makes your company survive.

  • Offer something worth celebrating. A 5% discount most likely won’t cut it. Give them something that you’d have never offered them during any other sales. Like an aggressive discount, free shipping, or a free product with their next order. The better the offer, the higher the chance they’ll bite, and will remember you for it.

  • Use a proper email sequence. Don’t just hit them with a single email and call it a day. Build a 2-3 email sequence:

    • Email 1 (A week before their birthday): Tease the upcoming birthday offer. Create anticipation.

    • Email 2 (On their birthday): Hit them with the actual offer. Make it sound exciting and limited time!

    • Email 3 (A few days after their birthday): Last call reminder. Friendly nudge before the offer expires.

  • Test and optimize. Just like any other flow, keep testing. Test the offers, the copy, the timing of the emails. Keep optimizing until you find what actually works best.

Birthday flows are one of those easy wins that can actually make people feel good about shopping with you. And happy customers? They tend to come back.

Alright folks, that’s it for today!
